Fireplace App Reviews

49 add

got just what I paid for

I got a very nice Firplace. I also have the kind that make heat. (The real one) And I would say I wish the real one sounded and looks this well.

Seems fine to me.

I was bummed that I updated AFTER seeing that the new version is ad-supported. But Fireplace 1.2 in fullscreen mode has no ads. And who doesnt run this full-screen? Id still feel a bit gipped if Id paid $.99 for it, but not enough to rate it 1 or 2-star.

Absolutely Ridiculous

No words can describe my frustration. Paid app which is now FREE. Steve jobs you are a joke. FirePlus though.

Come on!

The word "marshmallows" does not contain the letter e.

Not allowed to start fires in the house :)

Okay pyromaniac here... that coal bed didnt take hrs to make unless it was his first time making one and he was using like drenched driftwood or something. Admittedly I do catch my table on fire with isopropyl alcohol every once in awhile but its to dangerous to keep it burning for too long and it strips the varnish a paint off in a few seconds; so needless to say Ill probably use this in the winter when the snow is to deep to get to a shelter on the AT. Though I wont find a desktop fire quite as fulfilling as chopping the logs with my tomahawk and making myself smell of "man stink," and occasionally torturing the bugs that crawl up my leg while trying to get to sleep (very fun i reccomend beetles they look almost good enough to eat when the heat cracks the shell :)) BTW false advertising this doesnt say lite version so it shouldent have an ad on it and i think its sad what he did to his original buyers sadly they probably didnt get their money back apple only refunds after like 1-2 mo. from my experience. Also the "far less noticeable loop" is like 30sec long, its harrowed in by the flames in the front disapearing and an obnoxious (completely unlifelike on speakers) wood crack.

No Loving It

Its a good idea - I cant argue against that. Ive only had one very strange problem. Whenever I try to open an "internet application", for example, a Windows Live Movie Maker video my friend sent me off a Windows computer, and I open the video, it opens the Fireplace instead and a message pops up that says "Fireplace cannot open files of the type." ...I wasnt even opening Fireplace, I just wanted to see the video. So. Im majorly displeased with that, since now I cant open a lot of files, and I might have loved this app if it werent for this thing. Anyone know how to delete an app?

not like it

except screen saver, I dont think it has any goods.

Good

Its just like burning the real wood...I stared at the screen and felt warm, and the sound is awesome.

Great fireplace experience

This is better than the paid version. The paid version has additional fires but obvious stutter when the video loops. The "classic" fireplace is the best one so just stick with this. Great sound and video quality.

Lay back and enjoy the crackle

I dont know why everyone has their panties in a wad about this app. Yes, there is a link to upgrade, BUT when you enter full screen, it disappears and you are just left with the crackling, glowing fireplace. No ad present. I personally would only have this one full screen to maximize viewing pleasure.

good ice breaker

When I have my freinds over I have nothing to start a conversation abou, but saying "look at my fireplace" is fun.

looks nice

fun, specially on a cold night

What the ****?

Why would anyone want an app that as a fake fireplace. i got just to look at fire but why an app.

The free app plays ad-free just fine in full-screen mode.

Which is the point of an app like this, no? (that is: full screen mode) The paid app upgrades you to multiple fireplace choices.

Killed by scrolling

I got this app, and occasionally it worked fine, but there were a few problems: one, that its fullscreen mode was other than Lions fullscreen mode; two, that if I scrolled sideways or up/down, it would glitch up and stop going; three, that if I switched applications when I was in fullscreen mode, it would set itself as my desktop picture, which was cool in itself, but scrolling would still kill it if not on another window. The only way to fix it would be to quit and relaunch. I would reccomend not to download this until this is fixed. The ad so often complained about by other users is not a big deal – fullscreen mode fixes it – but "no obvious looping" is a lie – there is a short pause with no crackle and a frozen image whenever it loops through – just for about half a second, but still noticeable. Please fix these in the next update. It worked in FishTankFree – just do the same thing. Thanks in advance!

Obvious Looping

Despite what they claim, the looping is quite obvious. Also, the default crackle is way too high. Otherwise, nice app.

Glad I read the reviews!!

hmmm, just by reading these reviews, I wont even THINK of downloading this!! Thanks everyone!!! And whoever came up with this, can go jump in a lake. I hate you! Your bussiness tactics disgusts me as well!!!! Its people like YOU, that make me afraid to ever "upgrade" anything!!!

Great

Great free app, love it!

Not too Shabby

Graphics arent HD or even that great, but for a FREE app, works as well.

Cool

I do not think that they should have done all of those things with the prices. It is a cheap way to get money out of people. It was a cool app and relaxed me, but at the same time it was somewhat strange. It is really peaceful, however. In another view, this is a really lame app. It is a fireplace. What ever happened to a real one? I guess everyone is so wrapped up in their computer to realize: Is it really worth $0.99 for a fireplace that burns? Yet again, I enjoyed it.
